Primary School Day 8 Feb, 2018
The Primary School Day was held on 8th February 2018.The function began with the School Orchestra which was trained this year by the Madras Youth Choir. This was followed by the play “The Selfish Merchant” put up by students of Class one, which emphasized the importance of sharing and caring. Class two students presented “ Big Eyes-The Enchanter”, that portrayed the role of happiness in one’s life. “Rhythm of India” by Class 3 showcased the vibrant dances associated with the festivals of India. This was followed by the English play by Class four students, “The Frog Czarina”, based on a Russian Folk tale. The Tamil play threw light on the courage and bravery of the Maratha leader, Shivaji while the Hindi play presented a Kashmiri folktale about a tailor and his three lazy sons. The grand finale was the colourful Dance Drama depicting the different forms of the Goddess, Shakti.Read more...
Founders’ Day 3 Feb, 2018
Founders’ Day was celebrated on 3rd February. The Chief Guest for the day was Prof Sudharani Raghupathy, Founder, Shree Bharathalaya, Chennai. In her memorial oration, she spoke about her long association with Vidya Mandir as a parent. She appreciated and encouraged the students. Mr Viji Santhanam, in his address, recounted the history of the school and the vision of its founders.
Republic Day & Investiture Ceremony 26 Jan, 2018
Vidya Mandir celebrated Republic Day, with the Principal hoisting the National Flag followed by a colourful cultural program put up by the students of Middle and High School. Next was the solemn Investiture Ceremony that symbolized the official handing over of duties by the outgoing set of prefects headed by Aditya Naik. The incoming prefects headed by Shreya Sanjay were inducted into their roles.
Lift Inauguration 19 Jan, 2018
Lift for the main building was inaugurated on 19th January. This has been made possible due to the generosity of the 1991 batch of students.
